(More customer reviews)Ever since I was a kid my family has had homemade popsicles. I was quite looking forward to continuing that tradition with this product. I had mixed success. The shape is pretty, as are the colors, and, yes, you can put juice in the molds to freeze with the little handles on top, but then comes the hard part.
The plastic is a bit flimsy to be used around children. This thing would last maybe two or three uses around careless kids.
The molds leaked a sugary concentrate of juice while they were in the freezer, I'd recommend putting a paper towel, plastic wrap, or rag under them in the freezer.
The tongue inside the handle isn't nearly long enough or even shaped correctly to keep hold of the ice once it's frozen, and the mold has a horrible time letting go of its treasure. The best success I've had uses a combination of warm water and squeezing each mold until you can see the air moving around inside; don't pull on the handle until that happens.
The base of the popsicle holder has uncomfortably sharp edges and the "sipping flute" is inefficiently designed, I've spilled just as much melted juice and popsicle as I've enjoyed.
It makes me long for those old popsicle molds we had once. Great design on those things. They were big, blocky, and yellow, but lasted a long time and nobody got hurt.
Will I keep using these? Yes, I have them, might as well get some use. Will I enjoy it? Sadly, not as much as I could.
