(More customer reviews)This is the handiest, most useful little tool. I was always burning my fingers getting the canning lids out of the hot water. This has the little magnet on the end that just lifts them right up so you can then put them on the jars. I love it. Very inexpensive, too.

(More customer reviews)After too many times of having my hot lids stick to each other and have to handled, struggled with, or just give up until later, I bought this gadget. There are some things we don't need when canning. We can live without the funnel. We can probably live without the lifter tool. I'm not sure I want to live without this item. You can slide your rings down the handle while you are getting organized. you can even put the whole thing, with rings, down into your hot water. You pick up the lids by the edges, never have to touch the inside of the lid. A great and useful tool.

(More customer reviews)but magnet could be stronger. If you are just lifting the lids as is it works great but I heat mine in a water bath as is recommended and then they don't grip/hold onto the lids as well. I felt like this was a great idea, just needed a stronger magnet to warrant 5 stars.
