(More customer reviews)I have used the E.G.G. for a couple of years and find the product really does work as it claims. My complaint is the shipping. I was charged 10.90 for shipping and handling (almost the same price as the product itself) and then had to pay .78 C.O.D. which meant an added trip to the post office. I would not reorder through this vendor again.

(More customer reviews)I don't know why I lived without it! It sits beautifully in the mouth of the jar and the wide hole lets the food fall right into the jar like it wasn't there. Ladles seem to know just when to drip so it hits the side of the jar. You can almost hear them laughing at you. This funnel ends that! No more food running down the side of the canning jar. No more messy, sticky rims that need to be carefully cleaned before placing the lid. And it cleans very easily. I highly recommend it.

Victorio VKP1012 Hand Operated Grain Mill Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this product so that I could grind small amounts of flour from less common whole grains for breadmaking and emergency preparedness purposes.
The grinder is very simple to put together and fairly easy to use. Be aware that you may have to tighten the clamp occasionally as you use the grinder, but it is not difficult to do. I wouldn't attempt to grind large amounts of flour at a time unless you want your arms to hurt, but it is perfect for grinding a few cups at a time for a recipe- and kids love to help out!
Also, while the coarseness of the flour can be varied, but it will not produce a superfine (cake) flour.

I hope they're working on a lid that is free of BPA, but in the mean time, if you're searching for lids without BPA, I suggest Tattler lids. They are reusable and guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Progressive International Berry Keeper Review

(More customer reviews)I eat a lot of fresh, organic berries. Let's face it, if you're shelling out the bucks, you want those things to last longer than a day or two. Plus, I am a little pathological about mushy berries (yuck), so this seemed like a no-brainer.
If you mainly eat berries that come in small portions- blueberries, raspberries, etc: this will fit your needs nicely. There's a small lift-out insert if you want to keep things separated- nice touch. If you're looking to store strawberries, I doubt this would hold the contents of a standard green plastic "strawberry basket"- especially if you have some enormous berries in there. If you want strawberry storage, you'd be much happier with the larger Progressive Produce Keepers, which are roomier and probably multi-task a lot more than this does (at a similar price). Still it's cute, and it works! FYI- Whole berries last a lot longer in here than sliced- I have had strawberries in here for a week that still look perfect, but if they're sliced, you only have a day or so.

So upon realizing that I need fresh salads for optimal health, I decided to explore options for preserving them. After examining various 'vacuum seal' options, the Lettuce Keeper jumped out as the most logical looking solution. Vegetables, just like plants in the ground, need some air circulation, and the Lettuce Keeper system has all the aspects of vegetable preservation covered. It even has a lower tray from which water evaporates into the storage chamber, which is ventilated. Evaporation and ventilation are applied differentially to various vegetables and fruits.
My experience with the Lettuce Keeper confirms my initial impression of it. It preserves salads far longer than I've seen with any other storage medium I've used. After a week contents show no sign of spoilage or aging. I've not tried any 'vacuum seal' containers, so I can't compare this to that, but I can say this works very well! As per the initial critical review here, the instructions say to place the lid and all on a dishwasher's top rack. I couldn't be happier with this device; and thanks to it, I can be healthier too!
